Our dog, Jasmine, will be nine years old this December. Her nickname is "the puppy", because she seems to have never really grown out of acting like a puppy. She still runs around like a nut, does crazy puppy-like things, and is generally a spazoid (except when she's sleeping).
This morning was much like any other morning as I made my way down to my truck to head to work. My wife, Wendy, was leaving as well (actually, leaving for work means stopping by the local coffee shop on Wednesdays cause it's Highlander Grog day!) so we said our goodbyes and she pulled out. I got in my truck and started it, and looked up to the house.
We have a large picture window across the front of the house, and the bottom of the window is a couple feet off the ground. I could see the curtain was barely parted, and sticking up at the bottom of the window, just so I could see them and nothing else were two black ears. I turned on my headlights and Jas' eyes glowed. Day in and day out, she's there, watching us leave.
Not because she loves us, though. The moment we're gone, she raids the bathroom trash looking for any little piece of paper she can take into the family room and shred to bits on the floor.
I love that dog.
You can see it's come a little further along. Supposedly it's to be done sometime this winter.

What's your morning beverage of choice? Coffee, tea, juice? Homemade or store-bought?
Hands down, coffee. I prefer a steaming hot vanilla latte from Starbucks, but I can't imagine paying $3 a day on coffee. Instead, we have a nice industrial Bunn at work that makes a pretty decent cup of joe. A couple days a week I do stop at the local coffee joint for a vanilla latte, but they're assembling a new Starbucks that's right on my way to work, so I fear what my coffee intake will be like once that store opens.
